Ventilation Options
Roof Ventilation should comply with building regulations and the control of condensation on buildings outlined in BS5250:2011 and Approved Document C2:2004 (amended 2010).
The level of ventilation depends firstly on the roof design, cold or warm roof construction, the type of membrane being used vapour permeable/breathable or impermeable underlays, roof pitches above or below 35 ° or roof spans that exceed 10 metres.
As a guide for most situations ventilation should be introduced at eaves or low level of 10,000 or 25,000 mm2/m and 5,000mm2/m at ridge or high level. Spacing centres to achieve ventilation area of 5,000mm2/m:2.0metres or1.0 metre centres for 10,000mm2/m. Minimum pitch for Low Line Tile Vent: 22.5 °
