Marcher Roofing chose Rose!

Marcher Roofing chose Rose!

Rose Roofing was established in 1981 and is still a family owned and independently run company specialising in the manufacture of bituminous roofing and construction materials. They’ve developed their range of products over the years and can meet any requirements in the bituminous waterproofing market from DIY to high performance modified torch on roofing felt.

Operating out of a single factory site in Castleford, West Yorkshire, Rose Roofing are centrally located for all our depots ensuring supply and quality control. Burton Roofing stock a large range of Rose Roofing materials including their SBS Modi-Torch and Dura-Torch, torch on-felts slater’s felt and roof shingles. Their products are available in a variety of colours and surface finishes that resist oxidisation and damage from UV rays along with their solutions including bitumen primer and felt adhesives.

SBS stands for Styrene Butadiene Styrene – a type of synthetic rubber which 50% of car tyres are made from. The advantages of SBS Modified Torch on over APP include faster flow of bitumen, less heat required (cost, time & energy savings) and greater flexibility in cold climates.

Specialist roofing company Marcher Roofing Ltd based in Leeds have provided roofing solutions for residential, commercial and industrial properties throughout the Yorkshire and Humberside region for the last 25 years. They are a family run business and when it comes to felt flat roofing Managing Director Martin Gallagher won’t use anything other than Rose Roofing products:

“Myself and all my operatives have tried the other major brands, but we prefer to use Rose. It’s not just because it’s the best quality, I’ve visited the factory in Castleford and really like the fact that it’s a local, independent business”.

Marcher use Rose products on new build, repair and refurbishment projects including flat roofs, balconies, terraces and walkways and say it is the right product for complex detailing, upstands, penetrations and terminals.

“It offers excellent flexibility in extreme weather conditions and will accommodate movement of buildings due to the high tensile strength along with the fire protection properties you would expect. Manufactured in rolls for ease of application, it’s also easy to repair and maintain.”

We asked Martin to tell us about a couple of recent Modi-Torch jobs. An example of their commercial work was the 400m roof for their customer Shire Timber and Truss Ltd in Leeds.

“The roof had been overlaid many times and needed stripping right back to the original and a trough gutter adding. Work took approximately 2 weeks, but the majority of the time was spent stripping it back”.

Rose Roofing offers 7, 10, 15 & 20 year material only guarantees dependent upon system used. For more information on their product guarantees, advice and prices please contact one of our local depots.
