Solar and the changing roof specification

The complete roof now includes solar
The roof has changed. From 24 March 2027, new homes in England will need to include on-site renewable generation under the Future Homes Standard. In practice, that means rooftop solar as part of the roof specification, not as an optional extra.
A large share of the covering on a typical new roof can now sit under solar. If that solar is sourced elsewhere, part of the roofing package can leave with it. That is why Burton’s offer is simple: we already supply the covering, and we now supply the solar as well.
You do not need to become a solar specialist. Talk to your Burton contact, your KAM, sales contact or local branch, and we will specify and quote the right system with our partners. Coverings and solar stay with one merchant, one conversation and one delivery relationship.

We have partnered with leading solar suppliers. Sandtoft for in-roof solar, supplied as part of the complete roof structure with design support and warranty routes. Marley solar systems are already specified within the covering ranges on many projects. HDM provides broader system support, panels, in-roof, inverters and batteries, where the job requires it.
The offer is built for new builds and refurbishments. The right system for the job, not a single panel push.
The Complete Roof starts at Burton. Speak to Jack Hampshire at solar@burtonroofing.co.uk or contact your local branch.
